Refund policy

Eligibility for Returns

Returns are only accepted if a reported issue cannot be resolved through troubleshooting or repair under the applicable warranty.

To be eligible for a return:

  • The issue must be reported within the 30-day warranty period
  • Return authorization must be obtained from SciCal prior to shipment
  • Equipment must be returned in original or equivalent protective packaging
  • Equipment must show no signs of misuse, improper handling, or unauthorized service

Return Window

  • Approved returns must be shipped back within 14 days of return authorization.
  • Returns received after this window may be refused.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or refund:

  • Equipment sold “As Is” or “Parts Only”
  • Customized or modified equipment
  • Equipment damaged due to improper installation, handling, or packaging
  • Items returned without prior authorization
  • Incorrectly ordered equipment or items unsuitable for the buyer’s application

Shipping Responsibility

  • The buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs.
  • Equipment must be packaged securely to prevent transit damage.
  • Improperly packaged returns will be refused and returned at the buyer’s expense.
  • SciCal is not responsible for loss or damage incurred during return shipment.

Inspection & Approval

All returned equipment is subject to inspection and functional testing upon receipt.

SciCal reserves the right to:

  • Refuse returns that show evidence of misuse, mishandling, or damage
  • Deny refunds if the equipment is returned in non-original condition
  • Apply additional fees if damage is identified

Restocking Fees

  • A restocking fee of 20% may apply depending on the equipment type and condition.
  • Restocking fees will be deducted from any approved refund.

Refund Method

  • Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
  • Shipping, freight, crating, insurance, and customs fees are non-refundable.
  • Refunds are processed only after inspection and approval are complete.

Exchanges & Repairs

  • SciCal does not guarantee direct exchanges of pre-owned equipment.
  • When applicable, warranty-covered repairs will be completed and returned to the buyer instead of issuing a refund.
